People at Princeps

Meet our team

  • Neil Taylor

    Sales Manager

    Describe your average day

If I’m not travelling the length and breadth of the country, visiting new and existing customers – then I’m in the office, working on new leads with potential new clients. However, I also find time to manage the sales team from a strategic perspective with a view to implement ways of hitting and exceeding targets.

What do you enjoy most about working at Princeps?

No two days at Princeps are the same which is something I enjoy. I love the challenge of helping and growing new customers and, in particular, sourcing product that other suppliers have failed to locate.

What is the biggest challenge facing your customers and how do you solve it for them?

Lead times are an increasing challenge to our customer base and we are seeing orders for parts that are bread and butter for many of our broadline competitors – such as capacitors and resistors.  Our expertise means that we are succeeding where major franchised distributors are failing to keep customers’ SMT lines running. My prediction is that the current shortages are here to stay for some time and that diodes will be the next part to trouble our customer base.

What are the values that drive you?

I’ve always considered myself tremendously tenacious which is an ethos I have tried to instil in our skilled sales team. I believe our endeavours to not “no-bid” any RFQ means that we always go the extra mile to assist our customers.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Aside from spending time with my young daughter, I play lawn bowls, I have represented my county several times, although I’m downscaling to club level these days! I like to read a lot and apart from the odd beer with mates I’m very much looking forward to the new Game of Thrones series.
